Our Beneficiaries
This year, we hope to collect 30,000 units of food items to benefit welfare homes as well as households under the Public Assistance Scheme in Bedok.
Beneficiaries under the PA scheme are normally the elderly, and/or people who are unable to work due to some disabilities. Only $400 is allocated to a 1-person household. While this amount can go up to $1350 for a household with 4 people, it may still not be enough for these recipients.
We're also looking at helping households under the ComCare Fund and elderly living in 1-room flats. The ComCare Fund (or the Community Care Endowment Fund) was set up by the Government to help needy, low-income families tide over difficult financial situations, and work towards achieving self-reliance. It also aims to help the needy who require long-term assistance (such as the elderly, or persons with disability) to integrate into the community.
